CONSENT AGENDA
Motion: That $300 be advanced from general funds to supplement a $150 donation in order to purcha
the planter wall for Heritage Gardens. Funds will be replaced when the matching two-for-one
grant from H.R. Textron is received.
Background: A visit from Paul Kreutzer in August to The Loeffel Company in Carlsbad, CA, resulted in a 60%
discount on the purchase of a Yardstone wall. Original cost= $1,000. Purchase price= $100.
Russ Herrington, an employee of H.R. Textron and one of our gardeners, has donated $150 to the
SCVHS toward the purchase of the Yardstone wall. He has applied for a two-for-one matching
grant from H.R. Textron. Turnaround time is 6 - 8 weeks. Concern is that the Loeffel Company,
with 2/3 of their employees laid-off as of August, will go under before our order can be made.
