OLD NEWHALL: Carol Rock

Carol has met with our librarian, Eleanor Kiersted, to
discuss a full list of the donors to the library. Mike Vitale
reported that there is $550 in the fund.

Carol reported that the Santa Clarita City Council will meet
on Tuesday, October 26, 1993 to receive the presentation by Jeff
Oberdorfer on plans for Old Newhall.

As to the fundraiser at Melody Ranch, they are having some
safety problems and will advise us when they are cleared up.
They will give us about two months lead time to plan the
fundraiser.

She would like to renew our membership in the National Trust
for Historic Places.

8 TOURS: Jean Woods

The only tours pending are three tours of the Delta Health
Care Plan of HMN Memorial Hospital.

OLD AND NEW BUSINESS:

Carol Rock advised the Board that the Society can list
special events in the Special Events Directory at no cost to the
Society.
John Drew and Jerry O'Dell discussed a $5,000 grant from the
Urban Forestry Program for which they had an application. As
President of the SCV Historical Society, it needs to be signed by
John Mann as fiscal agent.

John Mann announced that the December Board of Directors
meeting will be held on December 13, 1993.

There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned
at 8:45 P.M.
