RESTORATIION COMMITTEE: Pam Helvey (written report)
The Restoration Committee met on September 19, 1993 and made
plan~- for Site Development: Complete all walkways in Heritage
Garden; initial construction of gazebo; installation of
electricity to Heritage area; installation of bumpers in new
parking lot; installation of herb block wall; reforestation of
Heritage Junction National Park; construction of retaining wall
at SP ditch and behind Kingsburry; construction of drainage
ditch/swale in Feed Trough Canyon.
Old Newhall: Priority to complete investigation for
preservation of First Presbyterian Church Manse on Newhall
Avenue.
Pardee House: Priority to complete installation of front
porch flooring a11d sanding; complete all three porches; prime and
paint house exterior.
Newhall Ranch House: Priority to complete installation of
all doors, windows, eaves and gutters on structure; and
construction of final set of stairs leading into Heritage Garden.
Mitchell Adobe: Priority to complete final exterior wall
coating of whitewash.
Edison House: Priority to complete prime paint front and
back sides of house.
Mogul: Priority to complete hydro test of engine.
Committee Action: Approved the 12' x 4' sign to be
constructed and installed for the Mogul 1629 Engine Restoration
Project to be funded by the Mogul 1629 Engine Restoration
Committee; that for security reasons, one glass window be
repaired, more permanent window latch hardware and plexiglass be
installed over all four windows of the Little Red Schoolhouse;
that 200' of tongue and grooved flooring be purchased for the
Pardee House front porch.
The committee will meet again on Sunday, October 17.
FUNDRAISING: Dave Lyerla
The committee has signed a contract with Mark Taper Forum
for 88 seats for the April 1, 1994 performance. We feel we
should be able to sell 88 seats.
