Bouquet Canyon | Saugus, California

Army Pvt. Arthur G. Logian, son of the owners of the Big Oaks Lodge in Bouquet Canyon, possessed this exact real-photo postcard while he was stationed in Hanau, Germany (outside of Frankfurt) in the mid-late 1950s.

Sixty years later, in February 2019, we found it on eBay from a seller in Nuremberg — a distance of 200km (125 miles).

Art Logian was elected student body president at Saugus Elementary School in 1949 and played bass clarinet in the band and sang with his brothers at Hart High in the 1950s (Class of 1955). After he returned home from military service he opened his own sign shop with his brother Louis, started a family, helped out at his parents' lodge and served as a volunteer firefighter in Bouquet Canyon.
