Bob Steele stands in front of Frank Walker's winter cabin (the cabin off the parking lot of today's Placerita Canyon Nature Center) in 1938's "Desert Patrol" from Republic Pictures. Impaired 11x14-inch lobby card, possibly advertising a re-release. (If it were first-run, the lobby card would be colorized.)

Not pictured: Child star and former Newhall School student Buzz Barton (real name William A. "Red" Lamoreaux) plays an uncredited henchman. At 25, he can't pass as a young teenager anymore.

Filmed at both the Walker Ranch and the Andy Jauregui Ranch in Placerita Canyon, "Desert Patrol" is directed by Sam Newfield from a story by Fred Myton. Rounding out he cast are Marion Weldon, Rex Lease, Ted Adams, Forrest Taylor, Budd Buster, Steve Clark, Jack Ingram, Julian Madison. Uncredited: Chick Hannan, Jack Hendricks and Tex Palmer.
