minutes of Board Meeting of July 21, 1997

The meeting was called to order at 7:14 p.m. by Tom Frew after a quorum was ascertained. See an
attached sign-in sheet.

The Minutes of June 23, 1997 were approved with corrections.

Treasurer's Report: Treasurer Glen Rollins did not have available a printed account, but reported
that the balance of the account was $33,271.07. Expenditures for the last month were $2839. 76 and
deposits totaled $1048.72.

Restoration Committee Report-- Pam Helvey
See an attached report.
There was one action item presented. The committee asked to be allotted $75 for the
purchase of a Rudd instant hot water heater for the Ranch house.

Mogul 1629: See attached report. It was moved to allocate $500 for steel plate for the locomotive
engme.

Motion Failed: 6 aye, 6 nay, 2 abs.--tie broken by president with nay.

It was moved to pay $210 for the Cal OSHA bill which is overdue.

Discussion on the Tank Car and the Edison House was postponed because Mike Vitale was
not present.

Correspondence: A letter was read from Hart Park regarding the permanent loan of farm implements
from Hart Park to the Society. It was moved that we accept the loan and designate a place for same.

Tom Frew reported that he had also received a letter from FEMA informing us that another
inspection of the Ranch House would be required due to a change in scope of the project.
