Pastor's Long Record

Next Sunday marks the fifteenth anniversary of the Community church pastorate of Rev. Wolcott H. Evans, and in honor of the event Mr. Evans will hold a special service. The event also marks the beginning of the last year of Mr. Evans' pastorate, he having announced his retirement at the close of the next year. Mr. Evans attainted the retirement age on May 15th of this year.
The church has made a most substantial growth under his leadership. The old building, which served for so long, and attained fame as the church in several moving pictures, featuring at different times Tom Mix, Charlie Chaplin and other stars, was replaced in 1924 by the fine structure now used, the erection of which was made possible by Mr. Evans' efforts.
Mr. Evans has made a host of friends and has ministered to all alike, without regard to creed or condition during his fifteen years' ministry and has proven a real "Shepherd of the Hills," as some loving friend named him.
A good audience should greet Rev. Evans as he begins his last lap of his spiritual administration here.
