The Westcotts and their friends, the Morraines, at the picnic grounds (Johnson Park) in Pico Canyon, 1939. Note the two torches, one at extreme left and the other in the background. Gas feeds through the pipes, which are capped with tin cans when not in use (as in this photo).

The Westcott family lived in Pico Canyon from 1933 until 1941, when they moved to Newhall.
