Gary Dean Alziebler
Aerospace Company Exec, Community Volunteer

A Sand Canyon resident, Gary Dean Alziebler passed from this life on March 22, 2007, at the age of 65. Born as a first-generation American on February 20, 1942, in South Gate, California, he was raised in Highland Park.

When Gary was a teenager, his family moved to Van Nuys where he attended Van Nuys High School and received the Athlete of the Year Award for his outstanding gymnastic talent.

In 1959, Gary graduated high school and then went on to attend L.A. Valley College in North Hollywood, where he joined the Phi Delta Psi fraternity.

He later served in the National Guard and was activated into the Army during the Vietnam War. Following his honorable discharge in 1968, he began working for his father at their family-owned aerospace company Joseph Alziebler Co. where Gary served as president until his death.

Gary gave of himself over and over through his community work, and through his support of his family and friends. He was a member of Phi Delta Psi, the Elks Club, Congress of Republicans, Newhall Tennis Club and the Chamber of Commerce. Many hours of volunteering were given to activities put on by groups such as the Boys and Girls Club, the Child Development Center, Girl Scouts, the SCV Zonta Club, Friends of Mentryville and The Santa Clarita Valley Committee on Aging (to aid the SCV Classic Wine Benefit Auction). He was a past president of the Newhall Tennis Club and most recently, a board member for the SCV Congress of Republicans. He enjoyed snow skiing, water skiing, traveling, tennis, and gardening.

Gary is survived by his wife Suzanne, daughter Staci, mother Anna Mae Alziebler, sister Candida Johnson, brother-in-law Dale Johnson, niece Dennell D'Ambrosio, and a large network of loving extended family and friends.

A celebration of his life will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Eternal Valley Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Andrei Olenicoff Memorial Foundation, 7 Corporate Plaza Drive, Newport Beach, CA 92660-7904 (Charitable Tax ID No. 65-1261387), or the charity of your choice.

"He will be missed terribly, but will live on in his family's and friend's hearts, remembering the good times and cherishing all the wonderful memories."
