Evelyn Ethel Adams, longtime Placerita Canyon resident, died January 25, 2019. She was 92.

Born on September 5, 1926, in Wellsville, Kansas, Adams and her family moved to the greater Los Angeles Area at the age of 13. She later married her husband James and were together for 30 years, until his death in 1974. The couple occupied the well-known little red house, with a white stock loader on Placerita Canyon Road. Their home was adjacent to Gene Autry's property, where the Adams' cattle were known to have grazed.

Adams loved to work and had various jobs in her lifetime, including stints at Tips restaurant, the Newhall School District in the cafeteria and the K-Mart on Bouquet Canyon Road. But local residents might remember her best from her days at Green Thumb Nursery where Adams worked for more than two decades.

Adams was the mom of three children, Kevin, Adria and David, who predeceased her in 1992 at age 22.

Funeral services were held February 5, 2019, at Eternal Valley Memorial Park.
