St. Francis Dam: Orchard Ranch Bunk House
St. Francis Dam Disaster

Photo No. 26 from The Newhall Land and Farming Co.'s March 24, 1928 report on the March 12-13 St. Francis Dam Disaster.

The Orchard Ranch Bunk House "was torn loose from its concrete foundation and would have gone down stream except that it was stopped by three Eucalyptus trees which did not give way. Photograph No. 26, Plate IX, shows the Bunk House in its present condition, and contrary to its appearance, it is completely wrecked and will have to be rebuilt."

Original caption by Almer M. Newhall reads as follows:

No. 26 Orchard Bunk House (destroyed) old foundation at extreme right of photograph

From Plate IX.
