Concrete Mold for Turtle Water Spouts
Piru Mansion Pool | Piru, California

Original concrete mold for the turtle-shaped water spouts surrounding the blue oval pool at Scott and Ruth Newhall's Piru mansion, presumably fabricated by Scott Newhall in his subterranean workshop in the mansion basement, circa 1970s. Approx. 11x15x6½ inches.

Damaged in the fire of February 18, 1981, that burned down the mansion when its restoration was four months shy of completion. Given by the Newhalls to their friend Connie Worden-Roberts shortly after the fire.

The Newhalls quickly restored the mansion to its original specifications, right down to the turtle water spouts around the pool.
