Bob Walker Donates Family Truck, Tractor
Heritage Junction Historic Park

June 10, 2022 — Frank R. "Bob" Walker, grandson of Placerita Canyon homesteader Frank Evans Walker (1886-1971), talks about the 1935 Ford V8 flatbed truck and 1922 Fordson tractor he donated to the Santa Clarita Valley Historical Society in May and June 2022.

F.E. "Papa" Walker purchased the truck new and used it on his local ranch, part of which became Placerita Canyon State Park (and Nature Center) and the East Walker Ranch Open Space. The tractor is believed to trace its origins to Sand Canyon vintner Tall Bello; it was abandoned long ago on the Walker property.

Bob also discusses his career as a third-generation Walker in the sand and gravel business, which F.E. Walker entered in the 1950s after selling a portion of his property to the state for the park.
