                 Nominating Committee - Gary VanTrese submitted 17 perspective board names to the general
                 membership.  Newsletter will be sent out first class mail so bi o's of perspective board members
                 can be included.  Each membership will count as one vote at election in January.


                 Treasurer's Report - Glen Rollins submitted treasurer's report.  Filed for audit.  Books need to
                 be audited by next board meeting.  Glen will find an auditor.
                 Patti Rasmussen moved that up to $875 be spend for Director's and Officer's insurance (Errors
                 and Omissions).  Pat Sa1etore seconded.  Motion passed.


                 Mogul Engine 1629- October 23, 1996 meeting:  $1,400 will be required for insurance on
                 engine as is.  If the train moves anywhere in the park, insurance rates will go to $5,000.
                 County requires a $2 million liability insurance.
                 Letters have been sent to L.A. County Parks and Rec. AQMD, Metrolink regarding whether they
                 will allow a moving train in park.
                 Norm Harris has copies of letters.
                 Plywood and plastic have been put in place to protect engine from the elements.
                 Oak trees will be plotted on Norm Harris' map.
                 Next meeting December 18, 1996 at 7:30 p.m.

                 Pardee House - See Pam Helvey's report.


                 Photo Archives - Phil Scorzia presented a selection of photo sleeves and boxes that wiH  protect
                 old photographs.  John Mann moved that up to $300.00 be spent to purchase such items.
                 Laurene Weste seconded.  Motion passed.
                 Pam Helvey expressed concerns regarding copyright/trademark laws to protect 50 years plus the
                 life of the photographer.  Pam recommends:  every item accepted by the Society needs a contract
                 attached to it, plus every item in our possession now needs a paper trail (to track down author).
                 Suggested we publish a public notice asking for any claims on any photos.
                 Decision tabled until next month.  Pam would like to have Carl Kanowsky clarify the laws/this
                 issue.


                 Christmas Open House- 21st Birthday celebration - December 15, 1996 from  12:00 p.m. till
                 4:00 p.m.  4H will be decorating.  Cathy Martin will chair.

                 Olde Towne Days - Phil Scorzia was elected to chair committee regarding OTO.  Committee
                 will consists of Carol Rock, Laurene Weste, Tom Frew, Bob Lynds, Pat Saletore, John Mann and
                 Anne Kaulbach, and will meet on December 7 at 8 a. m.  Committee will bring back
                 recommendation to board.

                 Cowboy Poetry Ji'estiva] - April 5 and 6 at Melody Ranch.  Society will once again man the
                 bars.  Historical tours wilJ  be given on Sunday for 3 hours by docents.  Cost will be $35 a head
                 with lunch included.
