Chamber of Commerce mixer - Reminder from Paul that Chamber of Commerce mixer will be
held in the station on Wednesday, April 17th at 4:30 pm. He expects all board members to be
present.
Cowboy Poetry Festival - March 29th-30th & 31st. Sign up sheet for bar is fiJling up. lfyou
would like to work, please call Carol Rock. Docents are also needed to ride shuttle buses to give
history of Santa Clarita Valley to passengers.
St. Francis Dam Program - J. David Rogers spoke at the St. Francis Dam program and did an
excellant job. At least 75 people were in attendance. The dam trip was well received. " A good
crowd and a good trip." Side note: Richard Perkins won the raffle drawing for the book, "St.
Francis Dam-Man Made Disaster."
Restoration - Pam H. reported that the committee met on Sunday, March 17th. Reported on the
pro!:,Tfess of the interior electrification of Pardee and Edison houses. Judy Holland informed of
key policy. OTD rooms are available.
Committee were reminded of the gazebo foundation and the Cownboy Poetry Festival.
Would like to name Visitor's Center in honor of Jerry Reynolds but no motion was made-no
quorum.
Eagle Scout Howard Harris put in 200 hours on the Adobe restoration exterior.
Kingsbury House - talked on what was needed for OTD.
Newhall Ranch - gutters and plaster
New station master Harold Hicks reported on mice, rats and ants. Committee would like to buy
ultra sound plug ins-might help with problem.
Edison House will be painted and finished for OTD.
Pardee House leaks in "fungus" room. Handicap ramp is under construction. Newhall Rotary
Club gave $250.00 donation for construction of ramp.
Mitcheli Adobe - Eagie Scout program. White washing formula from Don Wilke came in
handy.
April 14th at 1 :00 pm is next meeting.
Blacksmith Shop - Don Wilke is researching Tom Frew Blacksmith Shop. Had old phots that
he passed around of Tom's family (you look adorable Tom!). Don will be visiting blacksmith
shops in Daggett and Hesperia.
Spring Pole - Don Wilke still looking for wench that will be appropriate. He will be completing
toolbox.
Window Washer- Mike Delong has volunteered to wash every window injunction before
OID. His wife, Bonnie, offered to paint ramps on station and railing.
Camp Scudder - volunteers from Camp Scudder will be out every weekend to clean before
OTD.
